FINLOG Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, registering for, or using the FINLOG application, web portal, or related technical services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Services.

2. Eligibility & Account Responsibilities

You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) and legally capable of entering into binding contracts to create an account and use FINLOG.

• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your authentication credentials (including Apple ID, Google Account, or email passwords used with our identity provider, Clerk).
• Device Protection: Because FINLOG stores encrypted financial ledgers directly on your device, you are responsible for maintaining device passcodes, biometric locks (Face ID / Touch ID), and physical device security.
• Loss of Keys: FINLOG does not possess master recovery keys for your local on-device vault. If you lose access to your device without performing a manual data export or cloud backup, your local financial data may be permanently lost.

3. Permitted & Prohibited Use

You agree to use FINLOG solely for lawful personal finance management purposes. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the compiled native application or server infrastructure, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
• Interfere with or circumvent the rate limiting, quota checks, or security controls of the FINAI API or Supabase database endpoints.
• Use the Services for fraudulent financial reporting, money laundering, or illegal transaction concealment.
• Attempt to decrypt or access financial partitions belonging to other authenticated accounts.

4. No Financial, Tax, Legal, or Fiduciary Advice

All calculations, budget estimates, spending categorizations, burndown projections, and daily safe-to-spend allowances provided by FINLOG are mathematical estimations generated based on user-provided inputs and local statements. FINLOG is not a registered financial advisor, broker-dealer, or fiduciary.

You are solely responsible for evaluating your financial situation and verifying all tax and accounting obligations with qualified professional advisors. FINLOG disclaims all liability for financial losses, investment decisions, or budgetary deficits resulting from the use of the Services.

5. Nature & Limitations of FINAI Responses

FINAI is an artificial intelligence copilot powered by large language models (LLMs). While engineered with strict mathematical grounding tokens ({{fact_key}}) and sanitized context pipelines, AI outputs may occasionally contain inaccuracies, incomplete context, or delayed interpretations.

AI recommendations are provided for informational brainstorming only. Never make significant capital commitments, loan agreements, or investment purchases based solely on AI dialogue.

6. Subscriptions, Purchases & Billing Terms

Core Functionality: The current release of FINLOG Core (including local vault creation, statement imports, visual burndown charts, and standard FINAI quota) is provided free of charge on your device.

In-App Expense Manager Notice: The "Subscriptions" screen within the app is a local tracker for your recurring personal bills (e.g. streaming, internet, gym) and does not represent a billing relationship with FINLOG.

Future Premium Purchases: In the event FINLOG introduces paid premium offerings (e.g. FINLOG Pro):

• Purchases will be billed through Apple App Store In-App Purchases (StoreKit).
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID upon confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing cycle in your Apple ID Account Settings.
• Refunds and billing inquiries are governed by Apple's standard App Store refund policies.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

The FINLOG application, software code, user interface designs, official logos, SVG vectors, typography, trademarks, and documentation are the exclusive intellectual property of FINLOG and its licensors.

Your Data: You retain complete, unrestricted ownership of all financial records, transaction histories, and statements imported into your personal ledger. FINLOG claims no ownership or proprietary interest in your financial data.

8. Service Availability & Modifications

We strive for high availability of online services (such as authentication and FINAI inference). However, online services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Offline core accounting features remain functional independently of cloud server connectivity.

We reserve the right to modify, upgrade, or deprecate features with reasonable notice, provided that we will maintain mechanisms for users to export their financial ledgers in standard formats.

9. Account Termination & Two-Tier Deletion

You may stop using FINLOG at any time. To accommodate your privacy preferences, FINLOG offers a two-tier deletion system under Settings ➔ Account:

1. Keep Data on Device: Wipes your cloud identity and server quota records while retaining your local on-device encrypted ledger for offline use.
2. Permanently Wipe Everything: Atomically wipes your online identity, cloud backups, and permanently deletes all local encryption keys and vault data from your hardware.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, FINLOG IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL FINLOG, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR INFRASTRUCTURE PROCESSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF THE SERVICES.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
